Suddenly Amish Recap & Spoilers – Season 1 Episode 7: Esmeralda Deciding, Billie Jo’s Health Crisis & More

Suddenly Amish begins with Judah’s mother arriving in Lancaster, PA. Judah’s mom yells at him for not calling her.

Judah explains that they don’t have phones. Judah shows his mom that he can chop wood for the family to use to cook with. Judah doesn’t feel that his mother is proud of him at all.

James Works On The Phone Shanty

The bishop explains to James needs to get the phone shanty together. Of course, the bishop thinks the English need to stay in touch with their families. James gets the shanty finished.

James explains that the phone is away from the house to discourage them from talking on the phone so much. Billie Jo and Aaron call their families. Esmeralda calls the wrong number when she tries to call home.

Billie Jo tells her mom what is going on. Aaron explains the trouble with his hearing aids, etc. Aaron’s mom asks when he will be coming home. Aaron says they will see. Judah’s mom is afraid of the chicken’s Allen sees that Judah’s mother is a lot like him.

Judah’s mother has a lot of questions that she wants to ask him. Judah has come there for a purpose and she needs to leave it alone.

The Ladies Learn To Make Hygiene Products

Sarah shows the ladies how to make hygiene products. The ladies cook dinner and Judah’s mom complains about everything. Judah’s mom questions how they can run around on the farm without shoes.

Judah’s mom questions how people can lives without the conveniences of normal everyday life. James explains that they are used to this. James points out that Judah isn’t complaining.

Esmeralda explains that every day becomes a bit easier. Judah’s mom takes a call at the table.

Allen says Judah’s mom isn’t accepting of the culture but he hopes that Judah has developed enough to stay. Judah and James try to explain how they live to Judah’s mother.

Judah’s mom wants Judah to figure out what he wants and come home. Judah’s mom, is invited to stay with them if she wants.

No One Wants To Lose Judah

Judah’s mom wants to get him out of the Amish clothes and wants him to come home with her. Judah was almost killed once and she doesn’t want him where she can talk to him constantly is an issue.

Judah’s mom goes to the hotel for the night. Judah comes down for breakfast as Esmeralda helps gets other things together.

Billie Jo talks about the things she is battling in her decision to stay or to go. Billie Jo talks with the rest of the group about their decision.

Allen is not happy with the results so far. Esmeralda is still debating her decision. Esmeralda goes to her job in town. Esmeralda tells the owner about the “Roomba” and suggests he invest in one.

Esmeralda Is Still Waiting To Decide

Esmeralda isn’t sure what she wants but she doesn’t believe that the Amish life is much different than what she lives at home. Judah’s mother shows up again and tries to get him to come back with her.

Judah’s mom vows that she is not leaving without her son. Judah defends his decision to turn to the Amish and explains what he has done so far.

Judah loves his mom but he is staying where he is. Judah’s mom says she respects him and that decisions that he makes. Judah’s mom finally leaves and returns home.

Billie Jo is very sick, the heat is getting to her. Esmeralda is very worried about Billie Jo. Billie Jo ends up goign to the hospital. She says she can’t do this.

Billie Jo’s Health Crisis

Billie Jo is taken to the hospital and learns that she ahs heat exhaustion. Judah is with Billie Jo in the hospital. Billie Jo hopes that she just needs an IV. Judah refuses to leave Billie Jo’s side.

The doctor tells Billie Jo she can go home as long as she stays hydrated. Billie Jo gets back to work when she gets home. Reckoning day is the next day. Billie Jo has always wanted this but she isn’t sure she can do it.

Everyone prepares for their meal and Allen wants to know how Billie Jo is feeling. Allen talks about reckoning day and asks if they have any last questions. James and Allen can put in a good word for them. Judah and Allen are upset with James.

Allen offers to advocate for the English. Esmeralda is worried about the transition. Aaron may need to talk with the bishop.
