Bachelor host Chris Harrison and ABC executive Rob Mills discussed Clare Cralwey’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette. The new season will be replaced by The Bachelor: The Most Unforgettable – Ever! The new summer “best of” program will premiere on Monday, June 8 as production for Crawley’s season continues to be on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of his comments echoed Crawley’s previous statement on her Instagram account. Then Harrison added, “To my friend Clare, you’re still my bachelorette. Hopefully, we’re still going to have the opportunity to help you find love and make this work.”

Is The Bachelorette 2020 Cancelled?

Most fans assumed that Crawley’s season could get cancelled. In an interview with Variety in April 2020, Mills confirmed that Crawley’s season is safe.

“Clare’s season is happening one hundred percent,” Mills said. But it’s only a matter of time until The Bachelorette production can safely resume filming and the series can air on television. The Bachelorette teams hopes Crawley’s season will air in fall 2020, as long as production resumes in the summer.

“If I’m being realistic, it would probably be mid-summer that we start,” Mills told Variety. The timeline is still unclear. And, it’s possible that production will continue to hold off until it is safe to do so. So far, a fall 2020 premiere may or may not happen.

“It would be crazy for us to say that we know what anything is going to look like,” Harrison said. “Not even on television. I’m just talking the world in general. We don’t know when we come out of this, what it’s going to look like as far as getting back to social distancing. Can you get 10 people in a control room? Can you get 20 people in a control room? How are we going to shoot this safely?”

There will also be changes to The Bachelorette Season 16. ABC is reportedly recasting Crawley’s men. Mills also revealed that they’re looking into shooting one season at a private location.

“As of right now, the plan is to get a great location that has a ton of space where everybody could safely together and we can still have great dates that still feel big and romantic, and we would shoot the entire season there.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette turn out. However, it’s good news that the 39-year-old will have her chance at love, no matter when it happens.
