Golden Bachelor Spoilers – April Kirkwood Felt ‘Mixed Emotions’
When April Kirkwood first learned that Gerry Turner would star in The Golden Bachelor, she felt “mixed emotions.” But she still hoped to find a connection with Turner by competing on The Golden Bachelor, according to Heavy.
And amid her appearance on Nick Viall’s The Viall Files, April reflected on her experience. But first, Kirkwood pointed out the differences. For instance, Turner resides in Indiana. And April threw shade, declaring, “Indiana is not my thing.”
However, Kirkwood also shared, “I do have a different lifestyle, and I love it, I live in South Florida.” As a result, she viewed competing on The Golden Bachelor as “a real challenge, putting that nicely.”
Golden Bachelor Spoilers – Gerry Turner Looks ‘Better In Real Life’
But April did feel “pleasantly surprised on how good-looking he was and how well-kept he was.” And she gushed about how Turner “looked much better in real life than he did on TV. I don’t know if it was the suntan or the beautiful clothes or the atmosphere,” she added.
And Kirkwood praised Gerry’s “beautiful blue eyes that are dazzling, and of course, he was his charming self.” However, then Viall pointed out, “Just from a viewer standpoint he seems to be good at being empathetic. He’s really always on in a great way.”
And April threw shade, indicating that the show did not provide an authentic portrayal of Turner. “Yeah, I saw Gerry very differently. I think he was well groomed for what he did,” added Kirkwood, hinting that producers coached Turner to seem authentic.
Golden Bachelor Spoilers – Gerry Turner Hurt April Kirkwood’s Heart
But she added, “I think he was the perfect gentleman.” And Kirkwood admitted, “I think he endured as much as he could. I think it got hard for him to stay calm sometimes and keep his cool, keep his wits about him.”
However, then April expressed feeling hurt at Gerry’s actions. And she recalled, “There were times when Gerry and I talked and he just seemed to look right past me. He did it constantly to me, there was nothing I could do. As a counselor, I’ll tell you the meanest thing you can ever do to any human being is ignore them. That hurt my heart.”
But Kirkwood shared that she learned from the experience. And she vowed to “be courageous and keep moving forward, and keep looking for love.” But she also promised, “I will never ignore anybody.” And as she reflected on Turner, Kirkwood added, “I’m going to cry because that really hit me when he did that and he did it constantly to me.”
