The Voice CANCELLED?! Here’s Why Producers Feel FRUSTRATED!

The Voice just aired the finale for season 24. But amid the singing competition’s faithful formula of celebrity coaches, revolving chairs, and blind auditions, producers have become concerned.

And with The Voice failing to produce famous singers like American Idol’s Kelly Clarkson, rumors have soared about the possibility of a cancellation. Get all the details below, including who producers blame!

The Voice Spoilers – Niall Horan Wins Again

Season 24 of The Voice ended with coach Niall Horan celebrating another victory. And while his contestant Huntley happily accepted his prize of $100,000 and a record deal, producers feel frustrated with the show, per Cinema Blend.

And that frustration comes in comparing the superstars who have emerged from American Idol with the lack of breakthrough singers from The Voice. Amid the concern, ratings have fallen for The Voice.

And rumors have soared that the constant game of musical chairs when it comes to the coaches may have impacted the ratings. Season 24 marked the first time that none of the original coaches starred, as Blake Shelton quit after season 23.

The Voice Spoilers – Morgan Wallen Only Breakthrough Star

Producers have focused on the celebrity coaches when it comes to The Voice’s failure to find a superstar singer like American Idol contestants Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood. And although The Voice does give its contestants some degree of fame, no contestant compares to those found by American Idol such as Fantasia Barrino and Chris Daughtry.

However, former coaches on The Voice Adam Levine and Blake Shelton feel that Universal Music Group rather than the coaches should take some blame for the lack of breakout singers from The Voice. For instance, Blake feels that “the ball’s been dropped” as far as record deals.

But producers feel that most of the blame should go to the celebrity coaches, per Radar. And those behind the scenes feel that coaches should do better at choosing singers. Since its debut in April 2011, only Morgan Wallen has scored as a former contestant on The Voice with a successful music career. And ironically, coach Adam Levine cut Morgan prior to the live performance round in 2014.

The Voice Spoilers – Ratings Fall

Meanwhile, producers compare The Voice’s lack of breakout stars to American Idol’s success stories. And an insider shared, “The Voice honchos tear their hair out trying to figure out why the show can’t produce a breakout star. They blame the celebrity coaches for not nurturing the contestants to the point they are prepared to break big.”

Because of the history, American Idol attracts skilled singers, noted a source. “The coaches aren’t finding the true talent. And it leads to aspiring singers auditioning for American Idol instead, figuring it’s a better shot at the big time.”

Because execs believe these failures could have caused ratings to fall, the show could face cancellation. For instance, this year’s finale drew 6.7 million viewers, less than half the 14 million who watched the finale a decade ago. And the source shared, “Producers feel the show is going the way of the dodo by not creating a superstar. The pressure is really on the coaches to produce one!”

The voice had so many good singers I feel many were good enough for record deals. I believe Blake in the beginning gave his own money to help them I think ratings dropped when Gwen came on. She may be a fashion designer but that’s not a. Fashion show.there were a lot of coaches but she was the only one I didn’t like. And. It’s not the same without blaké.

I’ve become disappointed with the voting system. I live in the Mountain Time Zone and lots of voting is closed before our time to vote. It’s based on Eastern Time Zone. I have preferred certain coaches, too, like Adam Levine. Certain coaches I have not cared for.

I love the voice, I think the singers do a good job and the coaches do their best also. American idol play around to much and it isn’t as good as before. Voice really have singers who are talent and they just some support from the show, it takes money and the artist helped them as much as they can.Give the show more time and help the final singers more they deserve it.

The Voice is not American Idol, thankfully. It’s platform is so much better and more enjoyable. Keep it going. I have never missed an episode. I thoroughly enjoy everything about it especially the revolving judges. The contestants know the story and potential outcome before they ever audition.

The Voice does not produce big artists because it’s a forced format. With YT & TikTok, there are thousands of talented kids…as talented as contestants on The Voice. They gain extremely high popularity doing covers in their kitchens while holding coffee then write a couple originals they release on Spotify or Apple Music as an ep, then team up with others and plan a tour to see their fans. The Voice is THREE hours a week (2 too many). The results are skewed since only the east coast can vote while watching. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson & Daughtry were exceptions…21 seasons and just a handful of big stars…it’s just a cheap reality show…a prime time version of YouTube.

How about the Producers compare the way the season was run 10 years ago and the most recent season. I think they’ll find there was more interest when the season wasn’t fast tracked like it it today. I much preferred the season to go slower, thus allowing us, the audience, to learn more about the singers and their voice!

Groups should not be allowed. And America voters vote for the singer of their favorite coach. There should be independent evaluators at the end to determine the winners. I don’t know how The Voice and coaches help to promote the talent. For example after this season, did Ruby or Lila get record contacts even though they were the best ? (My opinion). The ‘winner’ is not always the best singer.

I really enjoy the voice however I don’t care for the voting leaving out Mt time and guessing west coast!
I miss Blake I think Gwen could wear more conservative clothing on a family show. I don’t watch any other talent show mainly because it seams to be more about the celebrities! Maybe it could be part of winning to open up for an entertainer as well as record deal.

The Voice does not need to be on twice a year. American Idol is only on once a year and that is enough.
Another problem is that each season, The Voice changes coaches. On Idol, they have had the same 3 judges for several years now. They don’t change judges every season.
I don’t like how The Voice does the results show. I like how Idol eliminated the results show and does a live vote on performance night and announces the results at the end of the show.

  • Sandy

I think the coaches should pick the final winner.
Not the public. There has been a lot of fantastic singers. But, the wrong ones are getting chosen.
    Thanks again, the public.
    Thank you,

I think the judges lost sight of finding The Voice and made it a competition between them. There were many talented people on the show. Perhaps the show needs to offer more than just a cash prize like the opportunity to work with a mentor

  • Bernadette

Because the person that wins is not always the best singer.Come up with a different voting system please.

When “American Idol”, in the first few seasons; when original judges were the focal point of how contestants would sing with no music, no tapes, just the contestants REAL voices, to hear the voices in a way that is what musicians, singers, etc hear them in a natural format. I, unfortunately, haven’t watched ‘American idol ‘, since the original panel of judges who critiqued, and ,would give them a ticket to the next round in Hollywood. I applaude how strong, and consistently proving if you have that magic voice beyond the limits, there WILL BE another superstar! I watched ‘The Voice’, the last two seasons, and I was very impressed how Niall Horan won this season, and the last! How rare 8s that?! Maybe the remaining judges, which, Reba McIntyre, quality experience, Gwen Stefani, experienced, but lacking in who is, or will be a singer superstar, as , John Legend, gave a very good and quality amount of what they need to improve, in the very competitive singer/musician, who stays, who goes. Experience is the key element for who will be a hit superstar or not. Niall Horan must have something going right to have his final singer, Huntley, have that Voice, will become a hit superstar where he has that confidence, stage presence, ‘To Bring Down The House’, a successful singer, songwriter, concert going, and album contract to win a wide range of audiences, thar makes him a winner all around.

I have lost interest in The Voice because I feel there is to much competition between the judges! The really good singers are not getting chosen! Singers that were let go I believe should have never been released!! I believe The Voice has turned into a fashion show!!

I have been watching the voice since it came on. It was really good to watch at the time. True there were changes as time went by. But the one thing that gets me is when the contestants start out in the Blind audition you can hear them sing. But when they would start with the battle rounds trying to hear them sing was getting hard. Same way with the knockout rounds and road to the live. Whoever takes care of the audio needs to listen to what we have to listen to each time. It is horrible. During the road to the live you can’t even hardly hear them over the music and live audience. Knockout rounds was the only and best time to hear each and everyone sing. There were a lot of them that should have stayed.
They need to go back to the format they had when they first started the show. They don’t need to shorten anything. The recap isn’t needed for the show. Give more guidance to the hopeful singer then maybe there would be more hopefuls.

This show was so good for the first several years never missed it. But when the coaches like kept changing,,, well it fell apart. Whenever they had anything to say about the contestants, you knew just what some of them were going to say. Especially Gwen she was so fake from day one and had almost word for word the same thing to say about each contestant. This year was not good I think the missing of Blake was the end of this show. Too bad.
