And with The Voice failing to produce famous singers like American Idol’s Kelly Clarkson, rumors have soared about the possibility of a cancellation. Get all the details below, including who producers blame!

The Voice Spoilers – Niall Horan Wins Again

Season 24 of The Voice ended with coach Niall Horan celebrating another victory. And while his contestant Huntley happily accepted his prize of $100,000 and a record deal, producers feel frustrated with the show, per Cinema Blend.

And that frustration comes in comparing the superstars who have emerged from American Idol with the lack of breakthrough singers from The Voice. Amid the concern, ratings have fallen for The Voice.

And rumors have soared that the constant game of musical chairs when it comes to the coaches may have impacted the ratings. Season 24 marked the first time that none of the original coaches starred, as Blake Shelton quit after season 23.

The Voice Spoilers – Morgan Wallen Only Breakthrough Star

Producers have focused on the celebrity coaches when it comes to The Voice’s failure to find a superstar singer like American Idol contestants Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood. And although The Voice does give its contestants some degree of fame, no contestant compares to those found by American Idol such as Fantasia Barrino and Chris Daughtry.

However, former coaches on The Voice Adam Levine and Blake Shelton feel that Universal Music Group rather than the coaches should take some blame for the lack of breakout singers from The Voice. For instance, Blake feels that “the ball’s been dropped” as far as record deals.

But producers feel that most of the blame should go to the celebrity coaches, per Radar. And those behind the scenes feel that coaches should do better at choosing singers. Since its debut in April 2011, only Morgan Wallen has scored as a former contestant on The Voice with a successful music career. And ironically, coach Adam Levine cut Morgan prior to the live performance round in 2014.

The Voice Spoilers – Ratings Fall

Meanwhile, producers compare The Voice’s lack of breakout stars to American Idol’s success stories. And an insider shared, “The Voice honchos tear their hair out trying to figure out why the show can’t produce a breakout star. They blame the celebrity coaches for not nurturing the contestants to the point they are prepared to break big.”

Because of the history, American Idol attracts skilled singers, noted a source. “The coaches aren’t finding the true talent. And it leads to aspiring singers auditioning for American Idol instead, figuring it’s a better shot at the big time.”

Because execs believe these failures could have caused ratings to fall, the show could face cancellation. For instance, this year’s finale drew 6.7 million viewers, less than half the 14 million who watched the finale a decade ago. And the source shared, “Producers feel the show is going the way of the dodo by not creating a superstar. The pressure is really on the coaches to produce one!”
