Todd Chrisley & Julie, Savannah & Grayson On The Surreal Pardon

Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie, were in prison for alleged fraud and tax-related offenses and they knew that Savannah was fighting to get them out. Still, the moment it happened seemed surreal for all of them. The former Chrisley Knows Best stars spoke about their feelings with Lara on My View with Lara Trump on Fox News this weekend.

The Impossible Happened 

If you followed Savannah Chrisley as she campaigned to get her mom and dad released from prison, you will know that she ceaselessly spoke out, called for action, and met with officials from The White House. You might have thought she felt confident about their release. However, she told Lara that she and Grayson were at their “lowest point” when she got the call from Donald Trump.

Of course, that call seemed surreal because after years of working hard, it suddenly happened and the president told her that he hoped to get her mom and dad out of prison as soon as possible. Of course, she went to get her dad out of Pensacola in Florida as soon as she could. What had seemed impossible at times really happened

Todd Made Fans Emotional

Perhaps Todd Chrisley was best able to articulate how he felt when he heard he was being released. He told Lara:

You go to bed in prison and you wake up the next day and President Trump has sent you home. I said this morning as we were getting ready, ‘We owe thanks to God, and God touched President Trump’s heart, and God led the people to advocate for us.’ So I’m grateful because every night I would pray God would return me home to my wife and my children, and He did that, so I’m grateful.

Next up was Julie Chrisley who said, “It is surreal. It’s hard to believe just a month ago we were in prison. How quickly things can turn around.” She added, “If nothing else, I hope people really realize things can turn around quick, and we are proof of that.”

What Did Grayson Have To Say?

USA Network fans still can’t get over how Grayson went from being a little boy in braces to a strapping young college man. He had a hard time dealing with his mom and dad in prison, and fans feared for him. He didn’t say much that was tear-jerking, but he certainly gave his sister a lot of credit for her hard work.

Gray mostly spoke about Savannah, saying, “We’ve always been kind of attached at the hip, but I’m very proud of her and I’m happy we don’t have to hide our political views anymore and she’s outspoken telling people what they need to hear.”

Possibly, since his depression that was evident on Savannah’s early podcasts means he won’t wear his heart on his sleeve in public when it comes to Julie and Todd Chrisley.

Savannah Describes What She Felt

Asked to reveal her feelings when the call came from President Trump, she explained that she and Grayson were sitting in the car. Savannah said:

When we heard President Trump’s voice, Grayson started to tear up, and seeing the look on his face, it was like this had finally come to an end. It was so surreal, and honestly, I was shocked when he called me and asked, ‘How are you?”‘ I said, “Fighting like hell,” and I probably shouldn’t have said that to the president. Just hearing him, and I think a big thing was he asked Alex Johnson, ‘Is this a commutation or a full pardon?”‘ She said, ‘As of now, a commutation,”‘ and he said, ‘Nope, we are going to give them a full pardon. These people need to get their lives back.”‘ I was just in such shock.
