Todd Chrisley Reacts To Wife Julie Chrisley’s Sentence Getting Overturned

The Chrisleys are happy that they’ve received a victory in Todd and Julie’s appeal after the couple were sentenced to prison for fraud related crimes. Despite Todd’s appeal being rejected, he’s reportedly happy and comforted by the fact that his wife’s has been overturned.

Julie Chrisley – “Heartbroken” About Todd Chrisley’s Appeal Being Tossed

It’s been over a year since Todd and Julie Chrisley reported to prison. Since then, the couple has maintained their innocence and promised to battle it out in the courts.

Since their arrest, their daughter Savannah has been updating fans on the progress of their case and their adjustment to prison life.

In the same way, the 26-year-old reality TV star shared her father’s reaction to hearing that her mother’s case has been vacated, following appeal.

“He was crying, like, happy tears knowing that mom could be home. That’s the only thing he cares about right now is getting her home,” she shared on the latest episode of her Unlocked podcast.

Even though Julie got a victory, Todd and the family accountant Peter Tarantino’s sentence was upheld.

Julie’s sentencing was vacated after an error, which blamed her for the entire bank fraud scheme, was found in her trial. Her case was then sent back to the lower court for re-sentencing.

When news of Julie’s re-sentencing broke, the family’s attorney, Alex Little, shared a statement celebrating the win.

“We’re pleased that the Court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal. With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case.

The family appreciates the continued support they’ve received throughout this process. And they’re hopeful for more good news in the future.”

Speaking on her mom’s reaction to their dad’s sentencing being upheld, she added, “Mom obviously was heartbroken for dad, but hopefully she can come home and then she can go visit him, and that will be a game changer, I think, for his overall mental health and well-being and for hers too. So I’m hoping that happens, but it was crazy.”
