Todd Chrisley used to boast that, in the words of his now-cancelled reality TV show, Chrisley Knows Best. But the real estate tycoon and his wife Julie Chrisley may want to revisit their belief in their know-it-all status, thanks to a recent prison sentence. As a result, the two will report this month to separate prisons remarkably different than their luxury mansion.
Find out about the new lives that Todd and Julie will lead starting this month. And as the reality TV stars prepare to spend their combined prison term of 19 years behind bars, see what a legal expert revealed. Plus: What does Julie fear the most? Get all the details below.
Todd Chrisley – Bids Bye To Country Club, Hello To Camp Prison
November of last year saw Todd and Julie Chrisley receive convictions for their multi-million dollar bank fraud and tax evasion scheme. As a result of the verdict, the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch and matriarch will report on January 17 to separate prisons in Florida. And a legal expert told People that those Florida federal facilities will provide a wake-up call for the Chrisley Knows Best stars.
However, though life for Todd, 54, will feel like “no country club” he’s ever known, the Chrisley family patriarch will reside in one of the more comfortable prisons. Todd will spend 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola.
And Julie, 49, will head more than two hours away to spend her seven-year prison sentence at Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna. “It’s still confinement,” pointed out expert defense attorney Paul Cambria. “But a camp is the best place to be.”
And the arrangement resembles a “college dormitory situation,” added Cambria. However, monitors and cameras will track the inmates. And with “usually no fences or barbed wire,” the prison represents “a fairly relaxed atmosphere,” noted the legal expert. FPC Pensacola houses only men. And the minimum security prison camp provides counseling programs and vocational training.

Julie Chrisley – Heads To Medium Security Prison For ‘White Collar’ Criminals
However, Todd’s wife will report to a medium security prison. But FCI/FPC Marianna does offer a minimum security satellite camp. And Julie can become involved in educational opportunities, wellness instruction, and even recreational programs. “The camps are basically for white collar, non-violent — a lot of dollars-and-cents kind of crimes,” clarified Cambria. “Things where violence is not involved.”
As a result, Julie likely will reside among a “population of business people, professionals, lawyers, doctors, dentists and accountants,” added the legal expert. And the two will get freedom to walk around the campus. “It isn’t like they’re locked in a cell,” added Cambria.
However, Julie and Todd can communicate only with prison staff’s approval, using email and phone calls. The Chrisley Knows Best matriarch and patriarch also can welcome visits from families. And after their years in prison, each will spend three years in supervised release. But the two still hope to appeal their convictions.
And their attorney Alex Little of Burr & Forman LLP claimed, “Their trial was marred by serious and repeated errors, including the government lying to jurors about what taxes the couple paid. Based on these issues, we are optimistic about the road ahead.”
But Julie seems more fearful than Todd about her future, pointed out Page Six. For instance, on a recent podcast, Julie fretted over the “possibility of my husband and I being separated. But there’s a difference between my husband and I being separated for a period of time and having to say goodbye forever,” she added.
