Could Below Deck Sailing Yacht get a reboot? Gary King is at the center of sexual assault allegations. He hasn’t taken accountability for his actions. In the meantime, he’s become one of the most hated cast members in the franchise.

Gary joined the Below Deck spinoff series during the second season. He became Captain Glenn Shephard’s First Officer and right-hand man. They quickly became best friends. Gary even lived with Glenn on the Parsifal III. Because of this, Gary became a huge part of the show.

He created drama for his many boatmances involving women. Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans dubbed him “creepy” and “problematic” long before the allegations surfaced. Some feel justified in their feelings about him.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht – Allegations

After Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 aired on Bravo, Samantha Suarez accused Gary King of sexual misconduct. Samantha works as one of the show’s makeup artists. She recalled the night when Gary showed up to her bedroom drunk. She also alleged that he forced himself on her.

This news shocked the Bravoverse. The network was already at the center of multiple allegations. Production already filmed Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht last summer. Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date.

The show would normally air in between Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck. But the allegations continue to haunt Gary King. He still won’t take accountability for his actions.

In his latest rant on Instagram, he blamed “cancel culture” for ruining his future with Bravo. The network has been slowly cutting ties with the First Officer even though he’s an integral part of the series.

Will Below Deck Sailing Yacht Get A Reboot?

There’s one way to solve this issue. Bravo could decide not to air Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The series could get a reboot like Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York.

Gary King could easily get replaced by another First Officer or Bosun in Season 5. It would be hard for producers to remove Gary from Season 5 since he has an integral role. If the series gets canceled, it would be Gary’s fault.

Bravo should fire the star and replace him with someone else. They have plenty of men who could fulfill the job. For example, Kelley Johnson could return to work for Captain Glenn Shephard instead.

Other contenders include Below Deck’s Eddie Lucas, Below Deck Med alum Malia White, and the handsome Luka Brunton from Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under.

Before Gary King, Paget Berry served the role of First Officer in Season 1 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. He’s already familiar with the job and crew members. He would be an ideal replacement for Gary. However, he said he would never return to the show because of how he was portrayed.
