NCIS stars have joined friends of David McCallum in honoring the late actor after his death at age 90. And actors such as Mark Harmon took time to remember what McCallum meant to them.

NCIS Stars Remember David McCallum
When news broke that NCIS star David McCallum had died at age 90, his co-stars and friends united to pay tribute to the late actor.
For instance, Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly both honored McCallum, known for NCIS as well as The Man from U.N.C.L.E., noted People.
And Harmon, who portrayed NCIS lead Leroy Gibbs with McCallum’s Donald “Ducky” Mallard for 19 seasons, recalled his “awe” of McCallum “when I first met him.” However, Mark also honored the late actor’s “great, full, long life.” And he added, “All of us on the show were honored to have toed a mark opposite him.”
And Weatherly shared a social media tribute. He wrote that McCallum “made every moment count, in life and on set.” And the actor urged, “Let’s raise a jug and celebrate a funny fantastic authentic man.”

But Michael added, “No one did it better. We were lucky to have him bring us Ducky. Let’s send all the love in the world to his beautiful family. Rest In Peace David.”
And Pauley Perrette, who played the role of NCIS chief forensic scientist Abby Sciutto for 15 seasons, posted several pics. But then she paid tribute in her captions, praising, “What a life.” And Pauley added, “What a legend and what a journey.”
The NCIS actress reflected, “And your legacy will always be the love you have for your family. Love to [his wife] Katherine and the kids and the grandkids, your absolutely very favorite things.” Joining in the tributes, Emily Wickersham described McCallum as “an utmost professional and a true legend.”

And Brian Dietzen, who portrayed the protégé of McCallum’s character Ducky, expressed gratitude for the late actor as a “mentor, great scene partner and a dear friend. He was a joy to work with,” Dietzen added.
And McCallum’s friends joined in the tributes. For instance, Joan Collins honored her drama school romance and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. costar. “So sad that #davidmccallum – my first boyfriend at #rada – has died,” wrote the Dynasty star on social media. “Loved working with him on #manfromuncle #rip #ripdavidmccallum.”
And Robert Wagner, who co-starred with McCallum on movies, mourned, “The world lost a great talent today. David was a brilliant actor who I had the pleasure of working with on several different projects. Thoughts to his wife, Katherine and to his sons and daughter.”
McCallum died of natural causes, with his family by his side, at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The NCIS actor is survived by his wife Katherine McCallum, his sons Paul, Valentine and Peter McCallum, his daughter Sophie McCallum and his eight grandchildren.
