According to TMZ, Major League Baseball (MLB) icon, Pete Rose has passed away at the age of 83. Rose’s agent, Fiterman Sports’ Ryan Fiterman confirmed his client’s death, which occurred earlier on Monday, September 29 at his home in Las Vegas.
Fiterman noted in a statement that Rose’s family is requesting privacy at this time.
MLB Legend Pete Rose’s Legacy
Known as the MLB’s hit king, his nickname was “Charlie Hustle” thanks to his persistency during the game. He was one of the greatest and well-known baseball players in history, earning 17 All-Star Game nods and scoring three World Series wins, as well as the National League MVP in 1973.
Moreover, Pete had the most hits in the MLB’s 100+ history, with 4,256 hits during his 24-season baseball career. Rose also led the Major League Baseball pack when it came to games played, which was 3,562; at-bats, which was at 15,890, as well as plate appearances, at 14,053.
Rose was a versatile baseball player, who could play outfield, as well as first, second, and third base. He spent post of his career in the Cincinnati Reds, but also played for the Montreal Expos and Philadelphia Phillies. He returned to the Reds to close his baseball career out as a player-manager.

MLB Legend Pete Rose Had His Fair Share Of Controversy
In 1986, Rose retired from baseball as a player. Sadly, he was banned from the sport in 1989 by Bart Giamatti, MLB commissioner after the league found out he had bet on baseball games.
Pete denied this for many years until he ultimately admitted to it in the mid-2000s. Sadly, the league never lifted the lifetime ban. Rose was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame and was considered one of the best baseball players, ever.
He was also charged with filing false income tax returns in April 1990, not showing income earned on the selling of memorabilia and autographs, as well as horserace winnings.
He was sentenced for five months in a minimum-security prison camp and fined $50,000 in July of that year.
On behalf of everyone here, our deepest sympathies go out to Pete Rose’s family, loved ones, friends, peers, and fans during this difficult time.
