Robert Redford Dead
Academy Award-winning actor and director, Redford, has passed away. This man is a name that everyone knows, even across multiple generations. The man was one of the best and biggest actors to ever dance across the screen. The actor and director was 89 when he passed away.
Death Confirmed
In a statement to CBS news, Cindi Berger confirmed the news of Robert’s death. Berger is of the publicity firm, Rogers & Cowan PMK. In a statement, Cindi said that Redford died on Tuesday. However, he was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Utah.
Robert Redford’s Career
In the late 60s, Robert appeared with Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. People loved the outlaw duo and people also noticed Robert’s good looks and charm. This move would be the start of a very long and successful career for Redford.

Later, he founded the Sundance Institute. The man then used his stardom to help independent films. At the same time, he was also promoted young filmmakers. In addition to that, Robert worked on social justice and environmental issues.
The Sundance Institute helped create well-known Hollywood icons, such as John Sayles, Christopher Nolan, and Quentin Tarantino.
Everyone knows about the Sundance Film Festival. The New York Times referred to Redford as the “Godfather to the American independent film movement.”

One final note about Robert Redfod. His family has asked for privacy at this time. ALthough the man was well-known far and wide, his family does deserve to have their wishes honored.
This is a sad loss in film and history. The man was an absolute legend. Even those who never saw one single production of his still know his name as well as his face. This is going to be a great loss.
