British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doubling down on their efforts to be relevant by debuting a new cooking show and releasing copious amounts of pics featuring the back of their kids’ noggins. Neither ploys are working.
How the Markle world has changed since 2020 and Megxit. Where once they were ensconced in the center of the monarchy, they now count Nigerian money launderers and B-listers (looking at you Mindy Kaling) as besties.
According Us Weekly Meghan and Harry signed a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020 to release content and here we are, in 2025, looking at With Love, Meghan, a cookery show that has been skewered like a cheap skirt steak.
Can you believe that among other things, Princess Pinocchio has been accused of copying other shows and presenting the fare as her own? Here’s what to know!
With Love, Meghan Mocked and Panned
“With Love, Meghan” dropped last week. Faster than the speed of light, the show was showered with the worst kinds of reviews, from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, to social media.
Netflix said it “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old” the key word is “reimagining.” Could they have been any more sly with the backhand?
The show was delayed from January 15, until March 4, apparently because more reimagining was needed. The delay didn’t work because global reviewers trashed “With Love, Meghan” as a straight up, and poorly disguised, rip off.
1) As Ever Belongs to Several Other Businesses
Let’s start with the name of her brand, As Ever. Sadly, that name belongs to several existing businesses, like Mark Kolski, the owner of a New York-based clothing brand with the same name, and none are happy with Meghan.
Kolski told The Sun that he feels there is nothing he can do to protect the business he worked hard for: “I don’t think I have the behemoth of lawyers and money that are behind this.”
2) With Love, Meghan looks like Pamela Anderson’s lifestyle show
Just weeks before the “With Love, Meghan” trailer dropped, Pamela Anderson released a preview of her lifestyle show, “Pamela’s Cooking With Love.”
Anderson told fans “I just always have wanted to take things to another level” while the Duchess of UnSussexful mimed “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”
One social media commenter felt Anderson’s show is more authentic “because she invited viewers into her real home, cooked regular meals, and had more genuine conversations with her loved ones … Meghan, on the other hand, is in a rented house, using chefs as props in a heavily staged and edited presentation to look good, pretending it’s all ‘authentic.'” Ouch.
Meghan also accused of copying Kate Middleton (with her beekeeping), and Emma, Marchioness of Bath’s cooking show with one poster writing “Emma seems more natural while Meghan often seems like she’s acting from a script. I think Meghan should focus strictly on charity work.”
3) As Ever’s logo looks like the coat of arms of a Spanish town
The As Ever logo features a palm tree with two hummingbirds and looks remarkably like the coat of arms of Porreres, a small town in Spain, which also has two birds and a palm tree.
The town’s mayor, Xisca Mora, told El País that Meghan’s logo was “a total copy” of the city’s coat of arms. Again, the little guy loses, because Mora was told by his legal team that “taking Meghan to court wasn’t a viable option.”
Wow, that’s a lot of plagiarism accusations for Meghan. Can you think of any other times she’s told a fib or mimicked others (ie Diana’s Northwestern sweatshirt)?
