While no one really knows what exactly went down behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace, the new book, Finding Freedom: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle And the Making of a Royal Family suggests that it was anything but peaceful between Prince William and Kate Middleton and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. As a matter of fact, royal fans suspect that there must be much more to the story. That’s why we’ve got three reasons why Prince William might have possibly been right when it came to royal newcomer Meghan Markle. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry Moving Too Fast With Meghan
While both Prince William and Prince Harry are yet to confirm or deny the reports that suggested Prince William tried to warn his brother that he was moving too fast in his relationship with Meghan Markle. Now, royal fans can assume that wasn’t because he didn’t think Meghan Markle was the right girl for Harry. Instead, Prince William knows that this kind of ‘royal’ love takes time. After all, it took nearly a decade before the Duke of Cambridge settled with his own wife, Kate Middleton. Being married to a royal and being constantly scrutinized by the press isn’t for everyone.
Meghan In The Spotlight
It has been reported a few times that both Prince William and Kate Middleton were none too pleased over the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began eclipsing them in the spotlight. The Duke of Cambridge had every reason to be upset, seeing how he is the future King of England. Sure, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be media magnets because of their celebrity appeal, but it’s Prince William and Kate Middleton who know that their duty and responsibility to the crown is far more important than how many red carpets they walk each year.
All The Megxit Negotiations

Prince William, along with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, wanting to give Prince Harry a little leeway back into the royal family during their Megxit negotiations back in January, should he ever change his mind and want to come back to London. According to Finding Freedom, Harry viewed Megxit as a done deal with no interest in ever returning to the royal spotlight.
Fast forward several months later and many reports have said that Prince Harry has been feeling homesick and unable to find himself in his new hometown of Los Angeles. Could Prince William have been right about Harry wanting to come back home? Of course, only time will tell!
