Late last year Prince Harry made it no secret that he would love to have another child just so he and Meghan Markle could give their one-year-old son Archie Harrison a sibling as a play-date. While the royal couple certainly does want to keep their two children close in age, is now a good time for the Duchess of Sussex to get pregnant? Maybe, maybe not. Here’s what you need to know.
#1 The Drama Between The Sussexes And The Royals
This year certainly hasn’t been a good one for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They left the royal family in what has been dubbed as a ‘Megxit’ by the British press, moved to Los Angeles during the coronavirus pandemic, and now there is a book coming out detailing all of the drama that apparently happened behind the scenes between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton. With all of this emotional stress, it definitely doesn’t sound like a good time for the Duchess of Sussex to get pregnant.
#2 The Ongoing Pandemic
While millions of women have safely given birth during the global pandemic that has been the coronavirus, with millions more getting pregnant, too, Meghan Markle might want to consider pressing the pause button on her pregnancy plans for now. Seeing how the Duchess was very worried about her family’s health and safety while they were in quarantine in Vancouver, the last place that Meghan would want to be in right now is in a hospital, especially in a hard-hit coronavirus area like Los Angeles.
#3 No Family As Back-Up
With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now in Los Angeles and the entire royal family back in London, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might feel as though they are getting very little back-up or support from their family. Sure, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is still around and the couple has plenty of celebrity friends, but that’s just not the same as having your immediate family members around to help you. At least, not for Harry, who has no blood relatives around.
#4 Prince Harry’s Pull Back To London
There have been several reports indicating that Prince Harry has been feeling more and more homesick in Los Angeles. In fact, some have said that he is feeling a pullback to London. This could possibly disrupt any plans that the Sussexes have in the future, especially when it comes to Meghan’s second pregnancy.

#5 No Stability In L.A.
If all of the above weren’t enough, there’s also the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no place to call home in L.A. and they are yet to find stable jobs in the entertainment industry, too. Surely, Harry and Meghan would want to have a place they could call a home of their own before bringing in a second child to this world. For now, though, it doesn’t look like that will happen anytime soon.
