Their Position Within The Royal Family
Of course, one of the biggest reasons why Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie don’t get the same treatment as their royal cousins Prince William and Prince Harry is because of their positions within the royal family. Let’s face it: Prince William will always be the most important grandson, seeing how he will take over the throne one day. Prince Harry, meanwhile, has long been known as ‘the spare’ and of course, is the most charismatic figure in the monarchy. While Beatrice and Eugenie are certainly the ‘spare’ cousins, there just isn’t that much interest in them, both personally and professionally (or rather royally) speaking.
One Foot In The Palace, But One Foot Out
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice want to be taken seriously as royals, but they have all too often proved that they have one foot in the palace while the other one out. Even though they’ve done their fair share of public appearances and royal engagements for the Queen, they’ve also had their own jobs at private companies and museums in both London and New York City. For a lot of royal fans, Eugenie and Beatrice’s purposes are rather confusing, as they claim to have their own jobs and their own incomes yet also enjoy all of the perks that come with being members of the royal family.
Treatment From The Media
It doesn’t matter what they say, what they do or what they even wear for that matter, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have never gotten the same kind of treatment that Prince William and Prince Harry have gotten from the media over the years. While no one knows the exact reason why the royal sisters have been mocked endlessly for their fashion choices and some of the fascinators they’ve worn during their appearances with the Queen.
Scandals Involving Their Parents, Prince Andrew And Sarah Ferguson
Through no fault of their own, another reason why Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are often given anything but royal treatment by the press is because of their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and all of their controversies from the past. While Prince Charles has had his fair share of humiliation, his brother Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are clearly in a league of their own, from their association with scandalous public figures, Sarah’s foot-in-mouth comments, and a certain fetish that involves sucking one’s toes.
Prince Charles’ Own Complicated Relationship With Prince Andrew
If all of the above weren’t enough, there have been reports from the past that indicated Prince Charles and Prince Andrew aren’t the best of friends behind closed doors, let alone loving and supporting brothers. Back in 2016, reports indicated that Prince Andrew tried to make his daughter Eugenie and Beatrice full-time working royals just so they could enjoy all of the same perks that Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry have at Buckingham Palace but Prince Charles shot that idea down real fast.
That’s because Prince Charles wants to have a ‘scaled’ version of the royal family when he becomes King, meaning he only expects his sons to carry the family legacy. Ouch. It’s no wonder Eugenie and Beatrice always keep their distance from their uncle at family engagements.
