If Meghan Markle really wanted to make things work out with the royal family, she would have certainly stayed back at Buckingham Palace. But instead, she and Prince Harry decided to pack their bags for greener pastures in her hometown of L.A. Many people would agree that you don’t move to a town like Los Angeles for privacy. Instead, you do it for the attention and in Prince Harry and Meghan’s case, it’s celebrity exposure and attention.
#2 Rubbing Elbows With The Hollywood Elite
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have quickly become friends with some of the biggest A-listers in the entertainment industry, including Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, and so many more. After all, if there’s one thing that Meghan has learned throughout her career, it’s not who you know, but who you are seen with.
#3 Always Camera Ready
According to the book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, staffers at Buckingham Palace had often asked Meghan Markle not to look at the cameras during her royal engagements and public appearances. However, the Duchess of Sussex had a very hard time complying. In fact, Meghan simply can’t look away whenever a camera is nearby. It’s only natural for her to wink, smile, and wave at the cameras.
#4 Asking Disney CEO’s For A Job
In what might have been one of the cringiest moments of 2019, the internet couldn’t stop talking about a video of Prince Harry apparently asking Disney CEO Bob Iger if he could hire his wife for future voiceover work. And wouldn’t you know, Meghan did get a job by narrating the Disney Nature film Elephants on Disney Plus. Still, a lot of people couldn’t help but wince at the video and the awkwardness of the moment, especially with Beyonce giving everyone a side-eye in the background.
#5 Putting Gloria Steinem On Her Speed Dial
If all of the above weren’t enough, there’s also the fact that Meghan Markle recently put activist Gloria Steinem on her speed dial. The two of them sat together – in front of the cameras, no less – to talk about the importance of voting for this upcoming election.
Clearly, Meghan knows how important it is to keep the elite very close. After all, in a town like Hollywood you want to make sure that you’ve got the right kind of friends, and what better friend to have then perhaps the most legendary living feminist of our times, right?
