Perhaps one of the most popular members of the royal family, Kate Middleton knows that the best – and perhaps most challenging times – is yet to come. In the meantime, though she’s doing everything she can to prepare for the biggest role her of life: Queen Consort of England. Here are just five things the Duchess of Cambridge is doing now to help ease into the transition.

She Keeps Calm And Carry On

The Duchess of Cambridge has been a member of the British Royal family long enough to know there’s no reason why you should act impulsively, show your real emotions in public, or worse, react when provoked. A recent example was when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were forced to sit not too far away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Commonwealth Day Services, which happened to be their last official royal engagement following their Megxit announcement.

Kate Middleton was clearly unhappy and while things were certainly said behind closed palace doors, the Duchess didn’t show it. She remained as calm as she possibly could and of course, carried on as if nothing had happened.

Timeless And Not Timely

When it comes to Kate Middleton’s style, she’s proven to us several important things: that not only does style matter, but that being timeless rather than timely or chic is what will make you stand out from the rest of the crowd. And that’s exactly what the Duchess of Cambridge has been doing for the last several years.

She is perhaps the one person on the planet that can reuse and recycle several old outfits from her closet and still get away from it. In fact, the Duchess and her classic style is the reason why ‘The Kate Effect’ has worked so well. It doesn’t matter what Kate Middleton wears, her fans want it, and that’s why many of her outfits sell out in a matter of minutes.

Take A Shovel And Bury The Scandals

If there’s one thing that Queen Elizabeth certainly doesn’t like, it’s seeing any of the royal family members making headlines for either controversial things they might have said or done, or salacious scandals. Luckily for Kate, she’s managed to avoid doing both in recent years. While there were some reports indicating that Prince William might have gotten a bit too close with Kate’s good friend, Rose Hanbury.

While those reports were quashed almost immediately, the Duchess of Cambridge knew that it was better not to react to any of the rumors. She’s certainly learned that when it comes to surviving royal life, it’s better to take a shovel and just bury those scandals and move on.

Even though it did take Prince William and Kate Middleton many years to finally tie the knot, their royal wedding back in 2011 was one for the history books. Since then, Kate Middleton has eased into her role as the Duchess of Cambridge and the future Queen Consort of England with very few hiccups.

She also knows how important it is to support her husband and of course, stay by his side through the good times and the bad. William and Kate always look like a team, whether it’s during their radio interviews, at their public appearances, or even at home with their children. That might be the reason why their marriage has managed to stay as strong as it still is today.

Duty And Responsibility To The Crown

Being an outsider and also being expected to comply with all of the rules and royal protocols that come with being a member of the British monarchy is certainly not easy for anyone, regardless of where they came from or how they were raised. Whatever princess practice and training Kate Middleton had before her wedding to Prince William certainly paid off because Kate knows just how important it is to keep a sense of duty and responsibility to the crown.

While there have been some wives who have run away from royal life, Kate is sticking with it. She knows that this is part of her husband’s family and his own legacy and that’s why she’s doing her part to make sure it’s done right.
