Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have settled into their new family life in Los Angeles, a lot of royal fans can’t help but wonder how their son Archie Harrison’s life will differ compared to his royal cousins back in London. And needless to say, it will be different in more ways than one. Here are just five examples below.
No Obligation To Be At Royal Appearances
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will always be in the spotlight, whether it’s on social media or at royal engagements and public appearances. However, that won’t be the case with Archie Harrison. While he will have an opportunity to see the Queen’s celebrations like Trooping the Colours on television, there’s no obligation for him to be there.
He Will Grow Up As A California Kid
Archie might have been born a royal in London, but he’s now a California kid in Los Angeles. That means he will get to grow up with all of the perks associated with leaving in SoCal: great all-around weather, the beach at your fingertips, and both Disneyland and Universal Studios in your backyard. If that weren’t enough, there’s also a very good chance that Archie will be spending his weekends with grandmother Doria Ragland doing yoga sessions and picking up trendy and healthy smoothies like many Los Angeles residents do.
Keeping Appearances, Or Lack Thereof
If there’s one consistent thing that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have managed to do so far, it’s keeping their son away from the photographers and the paparazzi cameras. While no one knows how long they will be able to keep Archie under the radar (and especially in Los Angeles), there’s a chance that Harry and Meghan will get creative in order to make sure that Archie’s privacy is not compromised. His parents might be too of the most well-known people in the world, but they will do everything they can to make sure he remains a private citizen.
Different Accent, Way Of Life And Culture
Should Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to settle in Los Angeles, that means little Archie Harrison will grow up with an American accent. Should the couple also decide to enroll him in any of the private, elite schools in the Los Angeles area, that means he will grow up with a different way of life and culture than his cousins back in London. Rather than hang out with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Archie Harrison will be having play dates with other celebrity kids at their parents’ beach homes in Malibu.
Fewer Family Gatherings
While no one knows what is in store for the future, as of press time, it looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not plan on returning to London anytime soon. Seeing how they are trying to build a new life for themselves in Southern California, there’s also a good chance that they might spend all of life’s major celebrations, including holidays and birthdays in Los Angeles instead of Buckingham Palace.

That means Archie will miss out on all of the cousin fun with George, Charlotte, and Louis at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate or at everyone’s fun and memorable birthday parties. Of course, this might all change in the future. At least, that’s what royal fans are hoping for.
