7 Laws The Royal Family Can Break Whenever They Want

The Royal FamilyIn general, most people don’t think of the royal family as lawbreakers (well most of them anyway), but in fact, there are certain laws they are exempt from and as such break all the time!

While it’s true that they have their own extensive set of rules, etiquette, and protocol, they are also able to break certain rules that the rest of us have to follow. Here are seven of them.

1. The royal family has a license to be speed demons! But only when they’re driven by police on official royal duties. Actually, when the queen and other members of the royal family are driven on official royal business, they can go as fast or as slow as they want.

2. The queen can come and as she pleases—she doesn’t have to use a passport to travel no matter where she goes. The reason why may surprise you though: because each UK passport is issued with the Queen’s name, she herself doesn’t need her own passport.

3. Unlike normal grandparents, the queen has automatic legal custody of all of her minor grandchildren. Normies have to go through the legal system to take control of their grandkids, but not the queen!

4. The monarchy can be a bit less transparent with their finances because they are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. What this means is that the public cannot obtain detailed information on how the royal’s use of public funds.

5. The royals don’t have to pay taxes or suffer through jury duty. On the other hand, a UK normie faces a £1,000 fine for skipping out on jury duty.

6. Her Majesty doesn’t need a driver’s license. Unlike the rest of us, the queen doesn’t need a silly little thing like a driver’s license to legally operate a car. She is not required to take a driving test and can drive without a license plate.

Lest you think the queen is a lightweight in the automotive department, during World War II she trained as a driver and mechanic for the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service.

7. Queen Elizabeth can commit bloody murder and get away with it. Seriously, she can break any law on the book without being in danger of arrest or imprisonment.

So, when it comes to the laws and rules that the royals are allowed to break, it really is true what they say, “it’s good to be the queen!”
