Royal Family News – Duchess Snubs Royal Work in Speech

Royal Family news reveals, the world listened as the Duchess of Sussex delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony for the One Young World Summit, held this year in Manchester, UK. The 41-year-old spoke of the importance of “belonging.”

The former Suits actress told the 2,000 delegates in attendance how much her life had changed since she last attended the summit when it took place in London in 2019, reports Hello! Magazine. She pointed to her role as a mother and a wife, but she apparently side-stepped mentioning her work as a senior royal the year before that.

The two arrived on Saturday and surprised royal fans and took the journey across the pond on a commercial airline instead of their private jet, reports Cosmopolitan.

Expanding Worldview, Dancing to the Oldies

“My world view had expanded exponentially, seeing the global community through the eyes of my child,” she said, speaking of her son Archie who is now three.

Her husband Prince Harry watched proudly, if not a little anxiously from his seat in the front row. The two sat tother during the proceedings with Meghan seen swaying her ponytail in time to the music, which included popular songs like Dancing in the Streets by Martha and the Vandellas, and Respect, sung by Aretha Franklin.

The Sussex’s initial arrival at Bridgewater Hall to start the ceremony was met with cheers as the couple strolled up to the stage through the attendees while the crowd held up phones to capture the moment digitally.

No Visit For The Queen?

According to Good to Know, the Sussex’s return trip is their first since returning in June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations marking 70 years as Monarch. Despite that, as well as the Queen’s age, it doesn’t appear that the duke and duchess have any plans to visit Her Majesty.

The Queen is still in Scotland where she travels each year for her summer vacation at Balmoral Castle. Recently the 96-year-old Monarch has been fraught with health issues and struggling with mobility. As a result, she’s been forced to miss the Highland Games.
