According to the Mirror, Tory MP Bob Seely from the Isle of Wight has moved forward with a bill to revoke Prince Harry and Meghan’s status.

It goes without saying that a lot of royal fans and critics alike were split on whether or not a new bill in parliament should strip Harry and Meghan from their Sussex titles.

Some comments included, “They wanted their titles removed, but the Crown can’t unless it goes through certain protocol. They wouldn’t be bothered. The toxic British Press yet again stirring it all up,” along with, “Isn’t voting and hereditary titles antithetical? Like if the people can vote for who is the Duchess, shouldn’t the people be able to vote on who is king and queen?”

Another royal critic pointed out, “Royal Dukes are princes who are given dukedoms as a source of income. They are not dukedoms which are based in merit. Sussex is not a title which is merited by service and therefore should not be removed for lack of service. There are many dukes who don’t live in the uk.”

He also said that he and Meghan Markle had no plans to return to the UK to be full-time working members of the royal family again. Meghan, for her part, has not made any comments about the matter.
