Americans Shocked To Discover Queen Elizabeth Had Four Kids

Queen Elizabeth passed away on September 8 and over the last week, British royal family supporters lined up to see her coffin. Additionally, the children of the former monarch stood vigil. However, many American were shocked to discover that she had four children. So, here’s a brief rundown of the ones some people don’t know about. 

Queen Elizabeth Kids Obscured By Harry And Meghan News?

Folks who live stateside became saturated with news about Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. Of course, because his dad, King Charles III is now King, people also know that he exists. Then, there’s Price Andrew, known for his involvement with Ghislaine Maxwell. Not that everyone knew he was the Queen’s son.  Clearly, with the media mainly focusing on bad news, Princess Anne and Prince Edward were swept under the rug. 

Soon, Queen Elizabeth will be laid to rest and a big funeral will be held for her. While leaders from around the world will attend, people from all over the world will tune in and watch it. And right now, a lot of eyes focus on Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. Perhaps some folks will just tune in to see if they can find something to slam Meghan for. After all, she’s the member of the royal family that average Americans can identify with.  

Queen Elizabeth Has Four Kids?

On September 16, People Magazine ran a story about the four adult children who stood vigil for their mother. In the comments, a surprising number of folks expressed their shock and surprise that the royal children (now all adults), included a daughter and a son that they apparently didn’t know about. 

More than just a handful of folks questioned the existence of the offspring that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip produced. 

Whilst interest in the royal family increased after Meghan and Prince Harry married, the USA did not recognize the monarchy as other commonwealth countries do. So, perhaps it’s unsurprising that so many people didn’t know that four children were born to the monarch. 

Charles And His Younger Siblings

Queen Elizabeth welcomed her son Prince Charles in 1948. After him, Princess Anne arrived in 1950. Then, Prince Andrew followed in 1960, and finally, in 1964, the youngest son, Edward arrived. If you don’t know, Princess Anne is one of the hardest working members of the royal family. As a younger woman, she became famous for equestrian eventing at the Olympics. Later, she became known as a patron of hundreds of charity organizations.

Her youngest brother, Edward, now the Earl Of Wessex, was well educated and spent some time teaching in New Zealand. After serving briefly with the Royal Marines, he became interested in TV and theatre and started a production company. However, in 2002, he started working for the family “Firm” and carries out a lot of royal duties. In fact, as Queen Elizabe aged, he stood in for her at a  lot of events. Married to Sophie, he’s one of the most popular members of the royal family in the UK.
