But that’s all recently changed. One source close to the situation even puts it this way, “Charles has wanted to be the monarch for decades.”

“Even though he’s battling cancer, he’s not letting that get in the way of his desire to be successful on the throne or a dynamic leader.”

Royal Family News – What’s Next For The King Of England?

Now, whether or not this is actually going to happen remains to be seen as King Charles has still been taking on his royal engagements and public appearances. 

There’s also a report that suggests the King of England was hopeful that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would bring their two children to the UK to celebrate the holiday season with the royal family this year.

One insider said, “This could be their last Christmas at home, so they will spend it together this year to make it extra special. Meghan’s mum Doria will join them at home in Montecito and they’ll ensure the children have a joyful day, despite not being around extended family.”
