The occasion was the queen’s unofficial birthday and for that, a small group of the military gathered for an exhibition for her at Windsor Castle. Now, a body language expert has evaluated footage of the event and come to a stark conclusion.

Body language expert Alison Ward told Express.co.uk that while the queen did, “look relaxed and happy in her teal outfit,” she allegedly appears at the same time to be, “slipping gently away from public duties.”

Despite Ward’s proclamation, palace aides have made it a point over time to deny that the queen will ever step back from her role which she reportedly deems a lifelong duty.

But the coronavirus pandemic has changed life as we know it, and the queen’s life is no exception. At the current time she and 99-year old husband Prince Philip are in isolation at Windsor Castle due to precautions against the virus. Both are in an age group which is particularly vulnerable to the virus.

Trooping the Colour Was Cancelled This Year – Royal Family Updates

Trooping the Colour is an enormous event held to commemorate the queen’s official birthday. It typically is held in central London and watched by huge crowds. On June 13 the parade was not held and instead Her Majesty was treated to a scaled-down version by the Welsh Guards at Windsor Castle.

Ward noted that “She clearly delighted in seeing her old favorites, the Welsh Guards in their different format to the traditional Trooping the Colour.”

But she also said that she seemed quite alone as there were no other family members present and she was accompanied by Vice Admiral Tony Johnstone-Burt and Lieutenant Colonel Mike Vernon.

Ward stated that her position in the tent from which she watched the event, highlighted how “set back” she now is from her normal schedule and appearances.

“She looked so tiny in that seat set back from everyone, almost like she’s slipping gently away from public duties.”
