Body Language Expert Praises Princess Catherine For Her Composure In Delivering Emotional Message

To mark this year’s Addiction Awareness Week, the Princess of Wales, in collaboration with The Forward Trust, appeared in a video addressing addiction and how the severe mental challenges it brings can be fought by not being ashamed of it and by seeking help.

Her Royal Highness talked about the very important topic in their London family home with pictures of herself and her family making up the background.

Analyzing the message, a body language expert praised the mom-of-three for the “confidence and determination” she showed in the video.

In order to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction and how those suffering from it can get help, Catherine appeared in a video message shared on The Forward Trust’s YouTube channel.

After the message went live, the royal mom and founder of the Early Childhood Foundation was commended for her powerful message, which urged addicts to know that their addiction is not their fault.

But apart from receiving glowing reviews for her poignant message, she also received stars for how she addressed the message, especially from body language expert Judi Dench.

“This is a very direct and assertive approach from Kate, sitting straight to the camera and using unwavering eye contact as she quite firmly addresses the problem of addiction,” James told Express.

“There is an air of authority in her delivery, although her pose also suggests modesty, sitting in the middle of a wide sofa and with no splaying to create a power signal.”

Apart from the Princess’ posture on the couch when she was delivering the message, James also studied her expressions.

James believes that Catherine’s “unsmiling” expression helped to carry the weight of the message.

“Her arms are held slightly away from her sides to suggest confidence and determination.

“Plus, her slight head tilt endorses that idea of confidence and a sense of wanting to project a message that she backs wholeheartedly.”

In 2012, Catherine was made the patron for Action on Addiction. She also became the patron of The Forward Trust in 2021 when the two organizations merged together.
