British Royal News: Did Prince Charles Really Wage A Campaign Against Princess Diana?

British Royal News says that at this point it’s really hard to figure out what is true and what might not be true simply because all of the events had happened so many years ago. Yet, there are reports that say Prince Charles might have possibly waged a campaign against Princess Diana simply because he was so jealous of her popularity.

That, and the royals apparently tried to make the Princess of Wales look like she was “unwell” simply because she was pushing back against them so much. Here’s what you need to know.

British Royal News – Did Prince Charles Really Wage A Campaign Against Princess Diana?

Princess Diana’s longtime private secretary Patrick Jephson spoke to The Scandal Mongers podcast about both Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s portrayal on the fifth season of The Crown. He says that a lot of what you see isn’t even close to the truth of what really happened.

Jephson says that Diana, who he knew very well, was nowhere near as crazy as some people were trying to put it. He said, “I get very frustrated. That has become the official line. If you ask people close to the current royal establishment — if you dare bring up the subject of Princess Diana, which very few people would — then I think that is the answer you would get; that it was a tragic story and that she was essentially troubled mentally, and the implication being that she was not entirely up the job, which essentially then she failed at.”

He also hinted that it might have been Prince Charles who waged a campaign to make his wife (and later on ex-wife) look both unstable and unwell. He said, “This is not just some casual gossip, it was a systematic campaign.

Okay, it was a long time ago, but … the man they were supporting is now our king and these things should not be buried, they should not be conveniently pushed to one side. They happened, in theory they could happen again, and certainly they shouldn’t pass without censure.”
