While in London, there was a lot of speculation about what was going on behind closed palace doors. On the day that it was announced that Queen Elizabeth had passed away, some reports said that Meghan Markle was supposed to accompany her husband Prince Harry to Scotland to see the queen one last time. A few short hours later, it was reported that Harry would be going alone as King Charles didn’t think it would be appropriate for Meghan to go at the time.

To make matters worse, both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looked visibly uncomfortable during their walkabout outside of Windsor Castle a few days after the queen’s death. Even though they were with Prince William and Kate Middleton, a lot of people could feel the tension in the air. Kate and Meghan didn’t even speak to one another while there was very little interaction between the two royal brothers.

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral also proved that neither Prince William nor Prince Harry were willing to make the first step in order to ease the strain between them. And now that Harry and Meghan are back in California, the Duchess of Sussex did admit that relations between them and the rest of the royal family remain complicated. This begs everyone to ask the same question: will things never be the same between William and Harry again? Has the moment for reconciliation passed?
