British Royal News suggests that King Charles III really doesn’t want to see Prince Harry’s memoir see the light of day. There are reports that say that the monarch is doing everything he can to stop the publication of his son’s book. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal News – King Charles III Wants To Stop Prince Harry’s Memoir From Hitting Bookstores
According to the Daily Mail, there are Palace aids that say King Charles III wants Prince Harry to stop publishing his memoirs simply because there is deep concern that the book will contain some damaging revelations about the royal family. The timing couldn’t be any worse too as King Charles III is currently in the first 100 days of his reign.
One source close to the situation even said, “The question inside the Palace is: ‘Can Can the book be stopped?’ It may be that even Harry can’t stop it at this stage but the feeling at the very top is that there’s no good that can come of airing grievances in public.”
Not only that, but it has also been suggested that the royals are putting their lawyers on standby, should anything come out that is particularly offensive or damaging from Harry’s book.
Another tipster added, “His Majesty will build on the points he has expressed to the nation: now that the period of mourning is over, he will support diversity, promote community spirit and protect the space for those with faith and those without. He is mindful that, as King, his interests and passions will continue but that… some of his previous commitments will now continue in the trusted hands of others.”
British Royal News – Will Prince Harry Release His Book This Year?
So far Prince Harry himself has not made any comments about his book. However, another report says that King Charles might ignore the book altogether. According to the Telegraph, sources close to the Prince of Wales say that some members of his royal staff had hoped that an advanced copy of Prince Harry’s book would make their way to their offices. That hasn’t happened so far but it’s not like Charles would have read it anyway.
Of course, it didn’t take long for royal fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter on social media. Many of them wrote comments such as, “No, I doubt Charles would personally read it either. He expects courtiers to go through it and report back to him the relevant parts they think he should respond to. That’s how things are always done. But, in this case, if Charles truly loves Harry and wishes to understand him and his point of view better, he really should personally read it cover to cover,” along with, “Would it be funny if Harry didn’t mention one member of the Royal Family with the exception being his mother? They would combust.”
