Prince Harry and Jon Bon Jovi are working on a song together. But can Harry even sing? The former Duke of Sussex has been taking the steps to move away from the royal family. While his transition has not been easy one, the Prince did get to enjoy his Friday afternoon. He hit the studio with rock legend Jon Bon Jovi in London. The pair recorded a new version of Bon Jovi’s song “Unbroken” for the 2020 Invictus Games, a sporting competition that supports injured military personnel that Harry started in 2014, as per CNN.
British Royal News: Prince Harry and Jon Bon Jovi Just Worked On A Song Together
Although it was a rainy day in London, the prince was all smiles with Bon Jovi outside the famous Abbey Road Studios. The two casually chatted in front of reporters. Harry told reporters that they prepared for their duet by “gargling.” They were then led into the control room overlooking Studio 2, the same studio where the Beatles recorded their music in the 2960s. The pair teased their duet in the microphones. The New Jersey rocker gave the former royal some advice.
“It’s gonna be really easy, just pretend you’re singing in your bedroom,” Bon Jovi joked. “Just shout it out.” This is an approach that the rock legend used since the 80s. Harry teased their collaboration on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote: “I said I’ll give it a shot.” In January, Harry and Meghan decided to say “It’s My Life” to their royal family. They announced that they’re taking a step back from their senior royal duties and will start their transition period on March 31.
Bon Jovi refused to speak about Harry’s decision to leave the royal family. He did call him “a wonderful young man” to the BBC, following their visit. He also revealed that Harry is a “Bon Jovi fan.” When asked about Harry’s singing chops, he said that he’s doing “awesome,” as reported by Town and Country Magazine. Bon Jovi will release his new album in May and will tour the U.S. with Bryan Adams this summer. What are your thoughts on Prince Harry recording a song with Jon Bon Jovi?
