British Royal News: Prince Harry Criticized For Staying Silent Over The Crown’s Portrayal Of His Family

British Royal News says at this point it’s pretty obvious that he’s damned if he does, and he’s damned if he doesn’t. Even though Prince Harry has nothing to do with the writing, the production, the filming or even the execution of The Crown, there are some royal critics out there who believe that he should be a little more vocal in criticizing the series.

That’s because some believe that it doesn’t put the British royal family in a good light and that the Duke of Sussex appears like a hypocrite just because he is profiting from Netflix while his family members are apparently suffering emotionally from it. Here’s what you need to know.

Royal expert and author Dan Wootton has made it pretty clear in his latest column for The Daily Mail that he is no fan of the fifth season of The Crown. He thinks that the series is doing damage to Queen Elizabeth’s memory.

He wrote, “It rankles me that Hollywood is prepared to damage the memory of our greatest ever monarch so soon after her devastating passing, not to mention the portrayal of her devoted husband Philip as an uncaring philanderer.”

Not only that, but he also says that Harry should be “catatonic with rage” over the fictionalized portrayal of his family, but he’s not. Wootton continued, “If The Crown was produced by any other media organization, Harry would be firing out Archewell press statements, alerting his trigger-happy lawyers at Schillings, and giving heartrending interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King about how the horrible media is out to destroy his life. Given he’s on the payroll, what do we have instead? A telling and deeply uncomfortable silence.”

British Royal News – Is Prince Harry Even Watching The Crown?

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, and nor has Prince Harry said anything about The Crown’s fifth season but at this point it’s doubtful that they will.
