British Royal News says that Prince William is being called out for displaying a lack of sensitivity once again. Actor Michael Sheen, who was born and raised in Wales, has pointed out that the newly minted Prince of Wales did a very special send-off for the England team before they headed to the World Cup in Qatar.
However, he failed to do the same for the Welsh team, despite the fact that he is the prince of Wales. A lot of people believe that he could have put in the same effort as well. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal News – Prince William Called Out For Lack Of Sensitivity
Michael took to his Twitter account to write, “He can, of course, support whoever he likes and as Pres of FA his role makes visit understandable – but surely he sees holding the title Prince of Wales at same time is entirely inappropriate? Not a shred of embarrassment? Or sensitivity to the problem here? #PrinceofWales.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for Michael’s fans and followers to weigh in on the matter, too. Some of them commented with, “Thing is, we don’t actually want him to be all supporting of Cymru.
We want him, and everyone else to understand how ridiculous and insensitive it is. But also how completely outdated it is to have a Prince of Wales in this form,” along with, “Don’t need his support !!!! Cymru were far more gratfull for their send off by the next generation and valued their support than any Prince !!! Pob lwc Cymru.”
British Royal News – Is William Insensitive?
Another critic wrote, “I honestly think they regard Wales as nothing more than another county of England. William has always known that he was in line to inherit the Prince of Wales title when his father became king, yet hasn’t bothered to learn Welsh, even though he lived in Wales for a few years.”
So far Prince William himself has not made any comments about the criticism, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. We will update you with all of the latest details as they come in.
