Camilla Parker Bowles Forced To Carry This Item During State Trips – Royal Family Updates
According to Britain’s Express.co.uk, even though Camilla Parker Bowles usually dresses in neutral but also floral colors during her state visits, she is required to always carry an all-black ensemble with her, too. There’s a good reason for it. That’s because should someone in the royal family suddenly pass away while Camilla is abroad, she is expected to dress in all black so she and other royals are seen as respectful when landing back in the country. This rule not only applies to Camilla, but all members of the Royal Family.
The need to carry an all-black outfit dates back to 1952, when King George VI passed away. Queen Elizabeth, who was then just a princess, was traveling in Kenya when she heard the news. Because she didn’t have a black outfit to wear on her return flight to the UK, emergency measures had to be taken. Queen Elizabeth had to wait in the plane until someone brought a black ensemble for her to wear before she left the plane. That was also the moment that she turned from a princess to the next Queen of England.
