You’d think by now that someone would have given her the hint already, but that simply hasn’t happened.

Clearly, we are talking about Melania Trump as a lot of people have once again pointed out that she has made this one huge mistake – as the First Lady of the United States – during King Charles and Queen Camilla’s visit to Washington, D.C.

Now, it has nothing to do with the royal couple or Melania’s behavior towards them. Instead, it’s the fact that she keeps on choosing foreign designers over American ones during state receptions.

And seeing how she is the First Lady, one would assume that she would use these high-profile opportunities to support an up and coming American designer, but that simply hasn’t been the case.

After all, that’s what former first ladies like Michelle Obama, Dr. Jill Biden, and even Laura Bush used to do.

Instead, Melania Trump decided to wear a pink Christian Dior ballgown during the reception that she and President Donald Trump hosted for King Charles and his wife.

Queen Camilla, meanwhile, wore a dress by Fiona Clare, who just happens to be a British designer.

But this isn’t the first time Melania has done this. Back in February, Melania said that American fashion can lead the world. She made the comments at the Smithsonian about the power of American style.

What’s Next For Melania Trump?

However, a lot of her critics pointed out that while she was making these comments, she was dressed head to toe in European designs.

Talk about hypocrisy, right? The First Lady was dressed in a Bottega Veneta coat and had on Christian Louboutin shoes.

But then again, this isn’t the first time that Melania has dressed in clothes that felt like a slap in the face to American designers.

Sure, she wore a powder blue Ralph Lauren coat to her husband Donald Trump’s first inauguration back in 2017.

But that might have been the only time that she was willing to make an effort to be seen as someone who supports American labels as more often than not she likes to dress in Dolce and Gabbana, who happen to be her close personal friends.

So far Melania Trump herself has not made any comments about the criticism she’s received.
