Carole Middleton Portrayed As Ruthless In ‘The Crown’

It looks like if there’s one Netflix series that the Middletons won’t be watching anytime soon, it’s The Crown. That’s because Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole Middleton, is not portrayed in a very good light.

The former British Airways stewardess appears to have played a huge role in getting her daughter with Prince William during the very early stages of their relationship. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to critics, in The Crown, Carole Middleton looks like someone who managed and meddled in her daughter Kate’s relationship.

Some critics even suggest that Carole might have even groomed her first born child to do whatever it took to secure an engagement ring from the future king of England, Prince William.

In one particular scene, Kate seems to be arguing with her mother and even got upset with her for encouraging her to sign up for an art course in Florence that Prince William was expected to join as well.

When Carole said, “I thought you’d thank me. You said you liked him,” Kate replied to her mother with, “Yes but then I grew up. Once you had the idea fixed in your head you never stopped. You don’t know him. What if William isn’t right for me? What about what I want?”

In another scene, Carole also tells Kate, “Heels not flats, you still want to show off those legs. It’s our duty to make use of the assets God has given us. Does he know you’re back on the market? Maybe find a way of letting him know.” 

Some critics of The Crown have commented on the matter with, “I figured the Middletons wouldn’t like the portrayal of Carole. Kate having no agency of landing Big Willie and Big Blue is ridiculous,” along with, “I’m glad Carole is getting outed as manipulator that she is, especially to all those who don’t pay attentions to the royals but may watch the crown.”

So far the Middletons have made no comments.
