British Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones Toasts Her Nation’s Newest Princess
This Wednesday, Zeta-Jones posted an ultra-cute picture of the Duchess hugging a 2-year old girl named Charlotte. Little Charlotte looked very colorful and festive in her traditional costume of red, black, and white, with bright yellow flowers.
The picture was taken during the Prince and Princess of Wales’ first official engagement in Wales – it was also their first official engagement since receiving the titles on September 10.
Zeta-Jones captioned the pic of Princess Catherine and the little girl with the sweet words: “I love our Princess of Wales ❤ I love our Welsh National Costume.”
Zeta-Jones’ deeply patriotic spirit to her birthplace was recently reciprocated by the Welsh people. In 2019, she came home to Swansea to receive the Freedom of the City of Swansea, an honorary award, as the city celebrated its 50th birthday.
Her contributions to her community, the movie industry and charities were also noticed by the Royal Family, when, in 2011, she was named a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
Prince William And Princess Catherine’s First Visit To Wales
On Tuesday, Catherine and William visited the country for the first time since receiving the traditional titles reserved for the British heir and their spouse.
They began their day by heading to Anglesey, where they lived together as newlyweds in 2010 and through to when Prince George was born. At the time, it was convenient for the couple as William was working as a helicopter pilot with the Royal Air Force.
After visiting RNLI Holyhead Lifeboat Station, and getting to meet the crew, volunteers and some of those who have been supported by their local unit, the couple walked the short distance to Holyhead Marine and Café Bar, where they met people including representatives of small businesses and organisations, such as the Coastguard and Sea Cadets.
The visit also included a trip down to Zeta-Jones’ hometown to see a developed church in Swansea that has grown into a thriving community hub. William and Catherine were both welcomed there by a group of children from the Swansea 1st Eastside Boys Brigade and Girls’ Association.
Shortly before their arrival at St. Thomas, the church bells rang to the tune of “God Save the King” and many people from the 300-strong crowd that gathered to see the royals sang along.
