British royal family news questions why did Barack Obama just get dragged, apparently by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry fans, on social media? According to the narrative, it’s because the Meghan insider had the nerve to praise Prince William‘s new environmental project.
In case you haven’t heard, William has just debuted the Earth shot Prize, which will give out five £1-million-pound prizes each year for the next 10 years. The campaign’s goal is to protect and restore the natural environment, revitalize oceans, promote waste-reduction, and reverse climate change.
Several high profile names are attached to the project including Sir David Attenborough, Cate Blanchett, and Shakira.
Why Would Meghan And Harry Fans Attack Barack Obama For Lauding William’s Environment Project?
William’s project has received universal praise and former US President Barack Obama got in on the action, lauding William’s vision.
He tweeted, “It’s going to take a lot of big-thinking and innovation to save the one planet we’ve got—and that’s why @KensingtonRoyal’s leadership on climate change can make a real difference.”
But some sour responses, allegedly linked to fans of William’s brother Harry and his wife Meghan, aren’t having it.
Some Twitter users criticized Obama’s support for the worthwhile project and went so far as to deride William and Kate Middleton’s previous environmental efforts.
Would It Be Petty For Harry Supporters To Criticize William’s Worthwhile Efforts?
“William, respect the environment…” was typical of the tone of the tweets and that one came from someone with the Twitter handle Royal Sussex Family.
Ironically, Harry and Meghan have helped to wreck the environment plenty, for instance by flying on four private jets in 11 days this summer. It probably would go unnoticed except for the fact that Harry has formed a travel company dedicated to responsible travel, presumably for the minions of the world, not him.

When confronted about his hypocrisy Harry simply said, “no one’s perfect.”
Harry has been far from perfect since emigrating to the US. His “interference” in the upcoming Presidential election has raised eyebrows and now one congressman is asking the UK government to intervene in his meddling.
Despite the negative online comments, there were some positives sprinkled in, with one person writing, “Love this backing! One king to another.”
And, as if to put in her two cents in this election year, former first lady Hilary Clinton tweeted: “We don’t have any time to lose when it comes to protecting our planet for future generations.”
