Apparently, Meghan Markle was once obsessed with the antics of Archie Andrews from the hit comic, Archie. She used to collect the comics while she was growing up with her father. Some of her closest friends believe that her baby’s name might have been a nod to her father.

According to Fox News, one source close to the Duchess of Sussex revealed, “She would spend her weekends going to vintage stores to buy the comics. This could be a little nod to her dad. It was him who instilled that hobby into her, that was their activity together. He would drive her around and also surprise her with vintage volumes. She had at least 100. This may be a way to reach out to her dad, even after all that’s happened.”

What’s more, Archie seems to be a name that is also climbing up the ranks of the most popular baby names in the country. As a matter of fact, Archie was the 11th most popular boy’s name last year. However, the name was also the 10th most popular name for dogs in the U.K., according to the data analytics company SEMrush.

And while the world might never know the true reason why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle picked out the name Archie for their son, one thing is for certain: he is a royal cutie that has already managed to steal the hearts of royal fans from around the world.
