Combination Of Flowers In Bouquet Could Be A Deadly One For Some

Meghan’s bouquet was made of forget-me-nots (which just happened to be Princess Diana’s favorite flower) along with sweet pears, lily of the valley, astillbe, jasmine and astrantia.

And while everything certainly looked beautiful, the combination of flowers could easily be a deadly one for some. The flower crowns and the bouquets were made by local florist Philippa Craddock.

However, some experts believe that Meghan Markle could have done a better job of researching her flowers as lily of the valley is one of the most highly poisonous woodland flowering plants. What’s more, ingestion could be deadly.

Lily Of The Valley Is Potentially Dangerous For Children Due To Its Toxicity

“Few spring flowers are as charming as fragrant lily of the valley. These woodland flowers are native to Eurasia but have become very popular landscape plants in North America and many other regions. However, behind their cute exterior and pleasant scent lies a potential villain,” Bonnie L. Grant, Certified Urban Agriculturist, wrote at Gardeningknowhow.com.

“Lily of the valley toxicity makes it unsafe to have around children and pets. The plant is so dangerous that ingestion could result in a trip to the emergency room, or in rare cases death.”

It’s also been noted that since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding party were so young, having flowers on their head was considered a very dangerous decision. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the report. Until then, royals fans will just have to wait and see what will happen next!
