Father’s Day has just passed and millions of fathers and sons around the world marked the day in their own way. How did Prince William and Prince Charles commemorate their bond on this special day?
Over the weekend Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton released a sweet picture of the two, to mark both William’s 38th birthday as well as Father’s Day.
The lovely photo shows William hugging Charles, reportedly at Sandringham last December. It depicts a tender moment in which both men seem at ease and happy to be in each other’s company, with grins all around.
Has The Relationship Between Prince William And Prince Charles Always Been Touching And Poignant?
Royal watcher Camilla Tominey wrote in the Daily Telegraph that the picture seems to show more than just a father and son in a candid moment but perhaps speaks to much more.
According to her, “The warmth which so obviously zings between father and son seems to signify a laying to rest of the ghosts of William’s childhood and any soreness he has felt towards his father after witnessing the traumatic fallout out of his parents’ separation as a 10-year-old boy.”
Does The Picture Released By Kate Middleton Reveal a new level of comfort between Prince William and Prince Charles?
She continued, “Now a father-of-three in his late thirties, with Charles willingly playing the role of doting grandfather, there is a sense that William has not only forgiven him for the mistakes of the past but also woken up to the fact his father has been as much of a positive influence as Diana, the late Princess of Wales.”
Of course, she is stating her opinion as she sees it reflected in the charming photo, and everyone will see what they will when gazing upon the image.
Happy Father’s Day!

Is William And Charles’ Relationship Much Improved From Years Ago?
Still, it was reported that Charles’ aides reportedly pleaded with William to pay homage to Charles during an interview ahead of the screening of the ITV documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life And Legacy. The year was 2017 and according to insiders, William refused the requests.
In contrast, just last year William paid tribute Charles in a BBC documentary meant to honor his 70th birthday. At that time William acknowledged that he wished Charles was able to spend more time with his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
William added, “I think now he’s reached his 70th year, it’s a perfect time to consolidate a little bit because, as most families would do, you are worried about having them around and making sure their health is okay. So, having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”

Hindsight is 20/20, Charles knows how important family is now that he’s older.
