Did Prince William keep his kids away during Kate Middleton’s hospital stay? That’s what a lot of royal fans can’t help but wonder as the Prince of Wales was the only person to visit his wife while she was in the hospital for more than two weeks following her abdominal surgery.

Unfortunately, the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, never visited their mother at The London Clinic. Here’s what you need to know.

One source close to the situation said that the mother-of-three simply didn’t want to make her hospital stay a bigger deal than it already was.

The tipster said, I don’t think she wanted to make more of a big thing of it than it already was. They’ll be rallying ’round in their own way and helping to look after her. I’m sure she’s utterly exhausted, but she’ll recover well.”

Many royal fans and critics alike sure do have their theories on social media about the matter.

Some have commented with,I understand the children not visiting. Some children can get traumatized by that. Maybe it’s because I have no children but how will they be traumatized? They aren’t letting them into the operating room.

I mean she is in a comfortable suite in a private hospital,” along with, “As a young child I was terrified of hospitals. Granted, for me it was because I was visiting doctors routinely but I remember walking along a corridor in a hospital with my mother and feeling an incredible tightness in my chest and trying so hard not to cry.”

Another critic wrote, “It really depends on the age and personality of each child. For some, seeing Mom hooked up to unfamiliar tubes or a monitor can be terrifying. Children who have bad associations with a hospital (like a grandparent going in and dying) might assume that mom will die, too.”

    I don’t think hospitals are for the young to visit. Given the nature of Kate’s operation it would have been too much for them. I also think keeping it al so quiet is not the best thing to do. Kate is loved and most of the country would have supported her in a very different way if we had known. Whatever happens now is too late . Surpose she get complications later on what then ? The king talked about his op and that might of helped lots of older men . So Kate we love you tell us and that will take the wind out of that nasty Megan .
