Does Prince Harry Regret Leaving Behind His Military Career For Life In LA?

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to resign from their senior royal roles to forge a private life in America.

Since then, they’ve been engaged in multiple projects, but even at that, it’s been said that the highlight of Prince Harry’s year remains the Invictus Games.

Now, a royal expert has come forward to say that Harry misses a number of things from his old days as a member of the Royal Family. The most important of these being his military career.

Prince Harry Was Never “Comfortable” In the Royal Family Environment

Soon after Prince Harry stepped down from his position as a senior royal, he giddily told the world that he was happy to leave the stifling environment that made him feel as if he was in a truman show. In addition to this, he expressed his sympathy for his father and brother, who can’t afford to leave, calling them “trapped.”

Echoing this sentiment, a US Weekly source revealed, “Even though he was raised [as a royal], he was never comfortable in that environment. He feels more like himself [in the US]. [In the UK] he had this crazy schedule, and would come back through the palace gates and couldn’t go out or have a personal life.”

The source, along with royal biographer, Christopher Andersen, both agreed that while Royal Family life wasn’t Harry’s cup of tea, he still found it “painful” to walk away from his military background.

“That was extremely difficult because the military was a big part of his life,” the source said.

In addition to the loss of his military career, Harry’s life in LA now lacks the structure he once enjoyed as a member of the Royal Family.

“People often forget that Harry is at his core an army officer,” said Andersen. “He’s all about structure, honour and duty – things that are missing from his life in Montecito.”

As a member of the British Monarchy, Harry was never short of events to attend, and while he still gets around in America from time to time, his schedule has been undoubtedly lighter.

This has made many to speculate that Meghan is currently the main breadwinner of the family, with her blooming lifestyle brand and her packed programming schedule.
