Donald Trump Fires Back at Prince Harry’s Ukraine Comments

Donald Trump Fires Back at Prince Harry’s Ukraine CommentsPresident Donald Trump did not take Prince Harry’s latest call for America to intervene on Ukraine’s behalf seriously. In fact, on top of being dismissive, the President had a few choice words for the former working royal.

Donald Trump Declares He Has More Right To Speak For the UK Than Prince Harry Does

According to President Donald Trump, Prince Harry has no standing whatsoever in the UK and has no right to speak for the Island nation.

This is regardless of the fact that Harry is a former working royal, who not only grew up in the country but served in its military.

Trump’s reaction to Harry’s statement happened during an Oval Office press conference, where he was asked to issue a comment on the Prince’s latest statement.

Deflecting the question, Trump asked, “Prince Harry? How’s he doing? How’s his wife? Please give her my regards.”

He then added, “I know one thing: Prince Harry is not speaking for the U.K. That’s for sure. I think I’m speaking for the U.K. more than Prince Harry. But I appreciate his advice.”

His comment serves as a sort of retort for Harry, who called on the US to observe international treaty and honor their promise to the European nation, which is currently belabored by its drawn out war with Russia.

Trump’s response comes as the Prince made a surprise trip to Ukraine on Thursday, April 23, and called on American leadership to properly come to Ukraine’s aid.

“The United States has a singular role in this story,” Harry said at the Kyiv Security forum. “Not only because of its power, but because when Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons, America was part of the assurance that Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders would be respected.”

“This is a moment for American leadership,” he continued. “A moment for America to show that it can honor its international treaty obligations, not out of charity, but out of its own enduring role in global security and strategic stability.”

Even though he didn’t directly name Trump, he still did not escape the President’s sharp retort. This is all happening as King Charles is set to leave the UK and head for the US soon on special invitation from the President.
