Donald Trump To Meet Queen Elizabeth Next Month

Donald Trump continues to meet some of the world’s most influential leaders, as he is about to embark on yet another international trip this summer. New reports indicate that the President of the United States will be meeting Queen Elizabeth for the very first time in London next month, according to his ambassador.

Apparently, the details of their meeting are still being ironed out, but it’s one that many people are looking forward to on both sides of the Atlantic. It’s also an encounter that can reignite a lot of negative feelings among Donald Trump’s British critics, who have long opposed his decision to visit the United Kingdom.

“Yes, yes, I mean, he has to see the head of state,” Ambassador Robert Wood Johnson has revealed to Sky News. “Putting his foot on British soil, it’s Job 1, it’s very important, very symbolic. Meeting Her Majesty is the most important thing, because she’s the head of state, and from then on, it’ll be what the president wants to do.”

Donald Trump once described his mother, a native of Scotland, “a big fan” of the Queen and said that he is excited to meet her. Unfortunately, a lot of people in London do not share the same sentiment. The President of the United States remains to be one of the more deeply unpopular leaders all across Europe right now.

British lawyer and political commentator, Peter Stefanovic, put it this way on Twitter, “In the last 3 days President Trump has backed the caging of children, talked of migrants ‘infesting’ the country, withdrawn from the UN Human Rights Council, made repeated lies about crime in Germany and we are honoring him with a visit to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen.”
