Ed Sheeran Debunks Rumors He Turned Down Performing At King Charles’ Coronation

We all loved it when Ed Sheeran performed “Perfect” at the Queen’s milestone Platinum Jubilee celebration and we would love to see him perform again at King Charles’ coronation. Well, it’s not likely that he would perform at the coronation ceremony and there’s a few – very wrong – theories as to why.

Ed Sheeran’s – Rep Denies Star Was Approached To Perform At The King’s Historic Coronation

You’ve probably heard that the King’s coronation will be all about inclusivity and togetherness. Since the start of King Charles the III’s reign, we’ve seen him meet religious and cultural leaders in his bid to unite all parts of Britain.

The coronation – set to take place on May 6 – will feature one-of-a-kind performances, taking place against a backdrop of a choir assembled from the best of British and the Commonwealth talent and a carefully orchestrated light show.

Plans for the coronation continue to unfold, especially with the recent announcement that “global music icons and contemporary stars” will perform at the televised concert celebrating the King’s coronation on Sunday, May 7.

The Mail On Sunday reported that Adele and Ed Sheeran were supposed to be among these “global music icons and contemporary stars”, but their different commitments meant that they wouldn’t be able to take part in the show.

This news was shattered when a spokesperson for Ed Sheeran denied the claims and said it wasn’t true, as the star was yet to be approached with the offer.

According to Metro, the “Bad Habits” singer-songwriter’s team said that neither he nor his team has heard from the Palace on whether he should be a part of the show.

Ed will be performing in Arlington, Texas on May 6, the day before the event, but is then followed by a week-long gap in tour dates.

Adele, on the other hand, is performing a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, through March.
