ESPN’s Pat McAfee Slams Network For Giving Prince Harry The Pat Tilman Award For Service

ESPN's Pat McAfee Slams Network For Giving Prince Harry The Pat Tilman Award For ServiceBritish royal family news reveals that ESPN broadcaster Pat McAfee is slamming his own network for giving shady Prince Harry an award meant to exemplify outstanding service. The ESPY award is named for the late NFL player Pat Tilman who died in combat, the result of friendly fire.

Tilman left the sport at the height of his career to serve his country and lost his life honorably. How does that sound like traitorous whiner Clown Prince Harry?

Furthermore, McAfee, a former NFL punter, reminded viewers that the prestigious award is given to a “person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and US Army Ranger.”

Tilman played for the Arizona Cardinals from 1998-2001. He added that Pat Tillman is an American hero who personified the definition of selfless.

A commentator on the show, Boston Connor, said that Prince Harry receiving the prize is “probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve seen in my entire life” after McAfee questioned if the ESPY Awards committee did its homework on Harry.

According to the Daily Mail, award winners are chosen via an online fan ballot “conducted from amongst candidates selected by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee.”

McAfee doubled down on the appropriateness of Harry Markle being mentioned in the same breath as patriotic Tilman: ”Hey, don’t be putting our f***ing guy with that guy.”

Prince Harry, who did a stint in the British Army, is associated with The Invictus Games which was modeled after the American Wounded Warrior games.

Tilman enlisted in the US Army in 2002 following the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Another commentator on McAfee’s show, Ty Schmitt, protested Harry’s nomination saying “It’s like you couldn’t find an active US military member or someone who can’t serve anymore because of something they did while serving. There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of people who they could have found who could have benefitted from this award. But instead let’s give it to Prince Harry…”

Tell us royal fans, do you agree with the uproar over British royal Prince Harry receiving an award based on one American hero’s sacrifice for his country?
