Former Prince Andrew Arrested & In Custody In The UK

Former Prince Andrew Arrested & In CustodyThe former Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of King Charles III and the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has been arrested.

As of this writing, he is still in police custody and has been brought in for suspicion of misconduct in public office. More on this story, below.

A Long Time Coming …

The former Duke of York turned 66 on Thursday, February 19, and has been embroiled in controversy for years due to his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

Reports indicate that police are investigating claims against Andrew of public office misconduct, as well as allegations that a second female was sent by Epstein to the U.K. for a ‘sexual encounter’.

Andrew had denied Virginia Giuffre’s claims that she was sex trafficked to Andrew by Epstein. The woman passed away in April 2025 by suicide.

Police’s Official Statement

Thames Valley police have stated that a Norfolk male in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

They conducted two searches, with unmarked police vehicles seen at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk – the royal family residence – early in the morning on Thursday, February 19.

Police have stated that they will not be naming the arrested man, due to national guidance. They added, “Please also remember that this case is now active, so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court.”

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright also noted, “It is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offence.”

He added, “We understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time.”

The arrest of a royal family member is unprecedented in the U.K., and it’s important to note that royal status does not provide immunity for Andrew from criminal law.
