Disgraced former Prince Andrew faces the possibility of jail: or, of leaving the UK. Actually, not for the first time, it’s a theory worth considering now that his life changed drastically.
Maybe he will look for a new beginning where things might be more comfortable for him. Of course, that’s if he can evade the long arm of the law.
Changes of Circumstance
Recently, things got rather hot for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Not only did he end up arrested and questioned about possible misconduct in public office, but other restrictions arrived for him.
Certainly, the pressure mounts as former Prince Andrew faces a lot of fallout over his past association with Jeffrey Epstein. Questions also rise over his finances, and The Firm seems determined to distance themselves.

Obviously, being a member of the royal family, Andrew lived a life of prestige and luxury. Naturally, citizens of the UK start feeling a bit despondent about the monarchy.
Fleeing To The Middle East?
Recently, Sky News Australia discussed whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could deal with so many privileges being taken away from him. Might that mean he takes the opportunity to leave the UK?
The discussion followed claims that the Duke was “told he must pay back the taxpayers’ money” that he allegedly spent on personal luxuries. Actually, that relates to the time he worked as a trade envoy.
During the discussion, Danica De Giorgio and her guest noted the latest financial demand adds to the “sheer embarrassment” of it all.
It’s not exactly clear where his ex, Sarah Ferguson, is now. However, a few weeks ago, she was spotted in the Middle East. Of course, that might have changed with the war heating up and including Dubai.
Still, it might be interesting to know if Andrew might follow her lead and take up residence there.
Tempting But He Might Not Bite
Back in November last year, Sky News Australia’s anchor Gabriella said, “There are…suggestions that Andrew Windsor will be fleeing the UK.” Allegedly, “He’ll move abroad and vanish from public view possibly in an Arabian palace according to some royal experts.”
At the time, barrister and broadcaster Andrew Eborn noted the appeal of that, as places like Abu Dhabi “don’t [let the press] enjoy the same sort of freedoms as we have here.” Of course, that would offer the former Duke a break from so much scrutiny.
While the tempting offer arrived from the United Arab Emirates, and it was a while ago, it doesn’t seem that the offer was ever withdrawn.
Plus, he wouldn’t have to slum it with his own cooking and chores. Instead, his new Arabian residence would come fully staffed with chefs.
Still, he might hesitate as the former Prince Andrew might still want contact with Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice. Mind you, they also seem to be distancing themselves from him right now.
Disgraced & Limited Acitivites In The UK
Back at home, life became very restrictive for the late Queen Elizabeth’s favorite. Apparently, he can’t ride his horse in certain areas because officials “don’t want him to smile” in public. Well, in the sarcastic opinion of Danica, anyway.
Right now, it certainly seems that the royal family hopes he stays invisible. Probably, King Charles and Prince William hope the controversy either fades away, or at the very least, diminishes.
Notably, the new big fence around the Sandringham property seems designed to keep people out. And, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in. Still, moving to the UAE would offer a level of privacy and “sanctuary” that isn’t available to him in the United Kingdom.
Viewers React
Many royal family watchers seem very tired of the constant drama surrounding the former Duke of York. Actually, in the comments section on YouTube, plenty of them felt that former Prince Andrew had more than enough chances in life. However, the conversation focused more on his isolation and removal of privileges.
One of them wrote, “He did get away with everything his entire life. Now he’s going to be ‘punished’ for his few remaining years, big whoop.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- He thought he could get away with everything because for years he did.
- I’m sick of everyone that’s purportedly “royal.” There’s nothing special about being born.
- He has to dress himself, clean his house, and mow his own lawn…Laundry and everything. Lol.
What do you think about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor potentially moving to a mansion in the desert? Is it time for him to ditch his restricted life in the UK for good?
Or, should he stay and face the Epstein music in isolation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and come back here often for more royal family news and updates.
