There were some people on social media that suggested Gwyneth was throwing some major shade at the Duchess of Sussex and supposedly making fun of her new Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’ and her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

In fact, Gwyneth even shared a video of herself preparing breakfast in her own kitchen, which some people thought was a direct dig at Meghan, seeing how she rented a house down the street from her own to film her show.

That’s when Gwyneth decided to share an Instagram video of herself along with Meghan to show the world that all of that is not true and that they are actually friends. Or at least, they are temporary friends who like to eat pie together. Hey, whatever works, works, right?

As you can imagine, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some fans and critics alike on both sides of the pond responded to the video with, “Take that gutter press and derangers!!! She was having pie with Gwyneth in the kitchen!! I love that Gwyneth posted this on her instagram!”

Another fan wrote, “It was a good move but Gwyneth was absolutely being a mean girl. Thankfully she moved on from being 15 to 50 and put that to bed. It was well done, I’ll give her that. And tarte tartin looked good (assuming that’s what it was).”

And then there was this comment as well: “Gwyneth has always had in my opinion weird competitive relationships with friends from Winona Ryder in the 90s to Beyonce in the aughts. So her being a snarky ice queen to a ‘friend’ seemed pretty on brand to me.”

So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
