Royals news suggests that Queen Elizabeth and other members of the Royal Family were blindsided by Harry and Meghan’s announcement. Apparently, it was a topic that was being discussed but nothing had been agreed upon.

Financially Independence – Is It Possible?

The UK Times reported that if the pair walk away completely, then Prince Charles will cut off their funding. It is stated that Harry and Meghan want to be financially independent. However, do they really know what they are asking and the potential consequences?

A whopping 95 percent of the expenses incurred by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex comes from the Duchy of Cornwall estate — income Charles earns. The remaining five percent is from the Sovereign Grant, which is funded by taxpayers. These costs include everything from palace upkeep, maintenance and everything in between.

To get an idea of what a substantial amount of money is spent on the Royal children, Charles spent $11 million last year between Harry, William, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
