Has Prince Harry’s Highly Anticipated Memoir Disappeared?

Prince HarryWhere is the Prince Harry memoir we have all been waiting for?  In July 2021, it was announced that Harry’s tell-all memoir will be dropping later this year. The memoir will be written by Harry with a little help from a pro writer and will detail his life’s story so far.

In a statement shared by the publishing house, Penguin Random House, Harry said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

Apart from the press release detailing Harry’s hope for the memoir, nothing much has come from the Sussex camp regarding the biography.

All We Know (Or Don’t Know) Of Prince Harry’s Upcoming Memoir

After what was reportedly a heated auction over the publishing rights of Harry’s memoir, Penguin Random House won the bid and advanced the reported sum of $15 million to the Duke.

At the time, Harry wrote in a press release: “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

Senior royals were blindsided by the memoir’s announcement as they were unaware that Harry was planning to write a sensational and personal book.

The Sun broke the news to Clarence House aides at 6:30 p.m. while Charles was at a reception in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.  The news came as a shock at the time, especially after the Royal Family was still reeling from the Sussexes’ Oprah interview.

As news of the memoir’s release date has seemingly vanished, it’s been revealed that the Sussexes have parted company with their global press secretary, Toya Holness.  She took on the role last year after joining the couple’s PR team since October 2020.

How Prince Harry Landed The Multi-million Dollar Book Deal

Prince Harry will reportedly write up to four books as part of his $29 million deal with Penguin Random House.  After Harry promised to deliver the goods in his new memoir, several publishers reportedly flew out from London to Harry’s home in California to participate in the “auction” for the rights to the book.

A source told the Mail: “He conducted negotiations – he had a very ‘take it or leave it’ attitude.

“His starting price was $25m (£18m) and the final figure was way north of that, possibly as much as $35 to 40m (£25-29m).

“Those involved were actually very shocked by his approach, which was to look at them coldly and state his demands: $25million.”

What the public doesn’t know yet is whether the memoir’s first installment will still be dropping this year as planned.
